A YOUNG BELGIAN football fan has landed herself a modelling contract with L’Oreal after a photograph of her cheering at the World Cup went viral.
Seventeen-year-old Axelle Despiegelaere was spotted at her native country’s fixture against Russia on June 23rd and caught the attention of many.
The next day, Despiegelaere set up a Facebook fan page, which has since picked up a cool 25,000 likes. The about section reads:
I’m Axelle Despiegelaere,The young Belgian Supporter who suddenly became famous during the World Cup.
On Tuesday, L’Oreal uploaded this video of Despieglaere getting her hair did.
And yesterday, Despiegelaere announced that she had signed a contract with the cosmetics giant.
Nice if you can get it, we say.
It hasn’t all been rosy, however. Despiegelaere has come in for criticism after she posted this photograph of herself posing alongside a dead oryx gazelle.
Despiegelaere hasn’t explained the photo or removed it, but did offer up this semi-apology:
